Spruces Campground, Utah Aug 7-15, 2013

What a nice, peaceful week in the Wasatch Mountains East of
Salt Lake City.  The temps were 20 degrees cooler than in the city.  Daytime temps were around 75-F, and night-time in the low 50s.  We had a little rain, so Linda really liked that.  We spent most of the time hiking and enjoying the really beautiful green forest land.  Spruces Campground is at about 7,500 feet elevation, so the hiking was kind of strenuous.  Any incline at all, and we were out of breath.  I guess we need to get in better shape!!  After this week, we'll be headed down to Provo, Utah.  We'll be visiting Linda's niece Amber and Hubby... and Linda's sister Debbie.

I'm pretty sure this is a River Otter...Maybe it's a Weasel.  It was strolling down the road after a short rainfall...

Part of the 'Tour of Utah'.  They rode straight down the mountain in front of Spruces Campground.

Fantastic pics, Bruce. I am especially intrigued with the weasels leg movement which looks awkward to me. LOL Maybe I need more coffee..........

My hubby and I both spent some time on your blog this morning looking at your amazing photos. We would love to travel in this part of the country....it's been years since we were there! Take care!

Looks like it was a beautiful stop and campground! Those temps are what we are experiencing right now too. Now I kind of get where you are when you mentioned Wasatch. Russ visited that area when he was part of an accreditation team for the Wasatch Academy School a few years back. Unfortunately he was too busy working to enjoy the area much. Have a fun and safe trip to Provo!

Beautiful country-your photos are superb-funny to see a little well not so little water creature walking along the road-I take it there was a river or stream close by..your camping areas are well thought out, drive through spots and the campfire pit.
