Bend Oregon - Oct 22-25, 2015

This was our first time to Bend, Oregon.  We stayed at the Bend Elks Lodge RV Parking area for 3 nights and visited some of the nearby areas.  Bend has a high desert climate.  It has a 4-seasons with cold winters and warm summers.  The town seems to be prospering and growing.  We enjoyed it!

We spent one afternoon in the nearby tourist town of Sisters.  It is loaded with lots of quaint shops

While in Sisters, we caught a glimpse of the Homecoming Parade

Bend has a very nice museum that features some of the wildlife and living history

We did a little spelunking (cave exploring).  This is the Boyd Cave that was formed from hot lava - also called a lava tube. The tunnel is over 1800 feet long.

Port Townsend, WA - Oct 15-22, 2015

We made a quick trip up to Port Townsend, Washington to visit with a few old friends that we made while at Fort Worden State Park - 2 years ago.  It was great catching up with them, and we had fun seeing some familiar sights

Ainsworth State Park - Oct 1-14, 2015

We found this jewel of a park just outside of Portland in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, near Cascade Locks.  While at the campground, we got to spend more time with our grandson Myles.  We watched him and Nala (their Alaskan Husky) while Jessica & Erik traveled to NYC to attend a wedding.  We all had fun!

Our campsite was pretty nice.

We all went on a morning walk in the forest

Linda met up with Jill - one of her Instagram Friends

We took a day trip to Mount Saint Helens

We stayed at McMenamins Edgefield for our Birthday(s).  It's a 74 acre poor house/farm (1911) that has been converted into a resort of sorts.  If you're ever in the area, it's well worth visiting

Enjoying a roaring campfire outside the The Little Red Shed - It's one of the many things to do at McMenamins Edgefield.  They have several restaurants & pubs, a brewery, winery, distillery, spa & soaking pool, gardens, movie theater and hotel rooms.  It's a fun destination.

Seal Rock Summer Wrap-Up - April 1 thru Oct 1, 2015

We really enjoyed our summer at Seal Rocks RV Cove.  What a great bunch of people to work with.  We made a lot of new friends, and really hope to return here in the future.  It seems like we just arrived, and now it's time to say goodbye.

Linda and Myles were taking a walk...and Nala was leading the way

While Butch and Toni were visiting us, we caught some Dungeness Crabs for dinner - they were a lot of fun (Butch & Toni...not the crabs)

We also had a visit from Kent & Barb.  It was great seeing them again!  Hopefully, we can see them again when we are in Washington.

This is the Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Newport.  We had a great tour inside.  It's the tallest lighthouse on the Oregon Coast

Linda & I spent a couple of nights tent camping at Fort Stevens State Park near Astoria, Oregon.  We really need to get an air mattress...that ground gets a little bit hard after two nights...

While at Fort Stevens we kayaked at Coffenbury Lake

This is the wreck of the Peter Iredale Sailing Ship.  It ran ashore in 1906, and this is about all that is left.

We had a great time with Myles...He's getting so big!

Of course we had to go catch some crabs with Myles.  He really enjoyed it...and so did I.
