San Onofre Beach Military Campground - Feb 4 to 9, 2016

Ken & Ruth invited us to camp with them at Camp Pendleton campground on the beach.  It's called San Onofre Beach.  Our campsites were on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  Brian & Terri also stayed with us.  They rented a cottage at the beach as well.  We had a great time with campfires, good food, good views and good company!

Getting ready for a train ride from San Clemente to Orange, California

Terri, Brian & Bruce taking a break from a long day visiting Orange, California

This is a favorite spot for surfers.  On the weekend, there were dozens of surfers waiting to catch a great wave!

This is about as good as it gets!

This is the Spanish Mission at San Juan Capistrano

Another view of the Mission.  The original mission was founded in 1776.

A whimsical sign at the Los Rios District in San Juan Capistrano

The Los Rios District is one of the oldest neighborhood in California.  Among the 31 structures, there are still 3 adobe homes that were built in 1794 for the Mission families.

I'm not sure why this lady is standing in the middle of a railroad track...
