Sioux Falls, SD Oct 6-11, 2016

We stayed at Lake Vermillion  Recreation Area.  It's just outside of Sioux Falls.  It was pretty quiet this time of year.  Some nights, it was just us and the camp host...but on the weekend, it filled up with campers.  The midwest is all about farming, and corn is a major crop.  It's so important, that they built the corn palace over 100 years ago.

Lake Vermillion is popular spot for Walleye fishermen

Our campsite had a great view of the lake and all the birds

Sioux Falls is formed by the Big Sioux River.  The water cascades over rocks in a number of places to create many different falls.  Every viewpoint creates a unique image

Every year the corn palace is redecorated.  This year's theme is "Rock of Ages".

Willie Nelson is rocking out on the side of the Corn Palace...and yes, that's all made with corn cobs!
Where the Heck is Wall Drug!  It's in Wall, SD...and it's just something you have to see for yourself!!

Long, long roads with nothing but farms and fields...

I was at the Corn Palace and Wall Drug when I was twelve. They don't seemed to have changed much.
