Sweetwater Summit Park - Bonita, CA Jan 22-28, 2017

This was our first time to Sweetwater Summit Regional Park.  It's near Chula Vista...in a town called Bonita.  So, it's very close to the city, but it feels like you are out in the country.  They have miles of equestrian trails and pretty large campsites with full hookups.  Unfortunately, the weather was quite windy and rainy much of the time, but we were able to get out and enjoy the campground in between rain showers.

Our campsite (31) would be great in the summer time, because we had plenty of shade.  If we stayed here again during the winter we would probably opt for site 129... or one of the others along the outer edge.  Those sites had sweeping views of the valleys.

The grass was very green everywhere in the area.  We suspect it's because of all the previous rain.  We also heard that San Diego is no longer in a drought, so that's great news for them!

Looks like it's time for another picture!

Imperial Beach Pier at sunset has some pretty dramatic views.
